Courthouse Lawn
The annual Hands & Harvest Festival is held throughout Highland County during the second weekend in October. The Chamber is excited to welcome visitors back who are ready to travel after over a year of having events cancelled. Our 2021 festival plans a full return to in-person activities all three days, including live entertainment, art demonstrations, historic walking tours, a showing of the 1921 classic silent film Tol’able David that was filmed in Highland County, and more! The Highland County Chamber of Commerce will be following current recommended CDC and VDH guidelines regarding COVID-19.
Arts, crafts and food vendors are an integral part of the festival, with a central exterior location at the Courthouse Lawn at 165 West Main Street in Monterey, Virginia, located on the corner of Main and Spruce Streets. Vendors are reviewed for uniqueness, quality, and diversity of merchandise. Vendors are set up on the following days:
